KEF Q50a là một mẫu loa hắt trần cỡ trung, tuy nhiên, nó lại cực kì nổi bật ở phân khúc này khi mà đây là mẫu loa vô-cùng-hiếm-hoi trong tầm giá phổ thông sở hữu cấu trúc 3 đường tiếng hoàn chỉnh, Những tính năng nổi bật của Dòng loa KEF Q Series Q Series được trang bị công nghệ củ loa Uni-Q độc quyền và cũng là  đặc trưng của  hãng phát triển suốt  25 năm. Công nghệ này sử dụng loa tweeter có màng loa được phủ ngoài bằng hợp kim nhôm cho phép bóc tách âm tần cao và giảm méo tiếng triệt để. Ngoài ra còn có vành dẫn sóng đặc biệt được bố trí ở trên nón loa cho phép tối đa hóa khả năng phân tán âm thanh. Thêm vào đó là chức năng thông gió giúp cân bằng nhiệt độ và sự tản nhiệt, mang đến độ trong trẻo của những âm sắc ở dải cao tần. Củ loa midrange màng làm bằng chất liệu titanium với nón được làm bằng nhôm cứng, tất cả được kết hợp cùng hệ thống nam châm neodynium mạnh mẽ được thông gió giúp loại bỏ những cộng hưởng không mong muốn. Bên cạnh đó, cuộn cảm voi-coil có đường kính 5cm cũng góp phần mang đến công suất mạnh mẽ. Về chất âm Trong số các driver được sử dụng trên loa center KEF Q50a, thì quan trọng nhất chính là tổ hợp củ loa đồng trục Uni-Q – một đặc sản của KEF, với driver tweeter được đặt ở chính giữa tâm của driver mid-bass. Cấu trúc này giúp cho Uni-Q vừa có thể đảo bảo được hiệu năng cao, âm thanh tách bạch, giàu chi tiết từ củ loa riêng biệt, lại vừa có được sự liền lạch, đồng nhất cả về âm sắc, tần số và pha thời gian như được tạo ra  từ một củ loa toàn dải duy nhất. Thêm vào đó, các driver trong tổ hợp này đều có hệ thống gân, rãnh khuếch tán đặc biệt trên màng loa, giúp cho âm thanh được khuếch tán rộng và đều khắp trong không gian, tránh được nhiễu loạn và méo tiếng.
